In this collaborative work with the Studio for Urban Projects, we lead a series of public tours for the Rockefeller Foundation’s Resilient By Design Challenge. Through these “Living with Water” tours, we brought the public into a conversation with the scientists, designers, planners, government officials, businesses, and advocacy groups working in San Rafael to make the region more resilient to climate change. The events provided translation and were widely promoted in different languages to the most affected communities in the Canal District, particularly the large Latino and Vietnamese populations. The free events focused on the bay (kayak), traffic (bikes), and the shoreline (walking).
